I am thrilled to share some personal news that marks a significant milestone in my academic career: I have been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Industrial Information Integration (JII). This moment is particularly meaningful for me as it represents an exciting point of an eight-year journey with the journal, during which I’ve served first as a reviewer and then as an associate editor.
Throughout these years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing JII’s remarkable evolution into one of the most respected publications in the field of information technologies. The journal has consistently demonstrated its commitment to excellence, achieving impressive metrics with a CiteScore of 22.3 and an Impact Factor of 10.4. However, these numbers only tell part of the story. What truly sets JII apart is its vital role in advancing our understanding of industrial integration and informatization.
The journal serves as a crucial platform where theory meets practice in the rapidly evolving landscape of industrial information integration. It provides an interdisciplinary forum where researchers, practitioners, and policymakers come together to address the complex challenges of industrial digitalization. From foundational research in mathematical science and computer engineering to practical applications in intelligent systems, manufacturing and engineering management, JII encompasses the full spectrum of knowledge needed to drive industrial transformation.
My journey with JII has been one of continuous learning and growth. As a reviewer and associate editor, I’ve had the opportunity to engage with groundbreaking research, collaborate with brilliant minds in our field, and contribute to maintaining the journal’s high standards. The dedication of our editorial team, the rigor of our review process, and the quality of submissions have all contributed to making JII a leading voice in industrial information technologies.
As I step into the role of Editor-in-Chief, I am both humbled by the responsibility and excited about the opportunities ahead. I am deeply committed to building upon the journal’s strong foundation while exploring new ways to enhance its impact. Our field is at a crucial juncture, with informatization and artificial intelligence playing an increasingly vital role in shaping the future of industry.
Looking ahead, I am particularly excited about fostering interdisciplinary dialogue that bridges theoretical foundations with practical applications, expanding our coverage of emerging technologies and their role in industrial transformation, strengthening the journal’s position as a platform for innovative research in industrial information integration and supporting both established researchers and new voices in our field.
I want to express my gratitude to the previous leadership of Prof. Li Da Xu whose vision and dedication have made JII what it is today. I wouldn’t be in this position if he did not give me the chance to review papers and then offer me to be part of the editorial team. His work has set a high bar, and I am committed to ensuring the journal’s continued success and growth.
